02nd Session of the Webinar for the promotion of coconut-related products in Pakistan.

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi and the Coconut Development Authority in Sri Lanka are organizing a series of webinars for the promotion of coconut-related products in Pakistan.

The second session of the ongoing webinar series was held on 12th October 2022 to promote desiccated coconut, defatted coconut, coconut oil, virgin coconut oil, etc. with the participation of Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi Jagath Abeywarna, Coconut Development Authority (CDA) Director Sampath Samarawickrama, Minister Counselor of Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad Lebbe Niyas, importers of coconut products in Pakistan and Sri Lankan Exporters. The CDA and five Sri Lankan Companies made presentations at the webinar.
The coconut industry is a thriving industry in Sri Lanka and Pakistan has the potential to become a great market for Sri Lankan coconut-related products.

Pakistan also imports a considerable amount of coconuts and coconut-based products from Sri Lanka i.e. coconut oil, desiccated coconut, copra (90% out of total Sri Lankan exports), fresh coconut (80% out of total Sri Lankan exports), ekels (100% of total Sri Lankan exports), defatted coconut and coconut fiber products.
