The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) organized a webinar on 16th November 2022 to promote roofing tiles/ceramic floor & wall tiles/wooden floor in Pakistan.
Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi Jagath Abeywarna, Director of SLEDB Anoma Premathilaka, President of Pakistan Sri Lanka Business Forum Aslam Pakhali, representatives of the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD), importers of the above products in Pakistan and Sri Lankan exporters participated in the session.
Sri Lanka exported around US$ 8.7. Mn. worth of roofing tiles/ceramic floor & wall tiles/wooden floor in 2021 to the world but no record of exports of the same items to Pakistan.
The participants from Pakistan showed their interest and informed us that they will explore possibility of importing them from Sri Lanka.
